Optimal Setting Adjustment
for AOL

For Internet browsing:
Click on "My AOL" and select "Preferences" from pop up menu
Click on "WWW" button, then "General" tab
Click on "Fonts" button
Select "Japanese" from the box on the top
Select a Japanese font in both "Proportional font" and "Fixed width font" [e.g. UWJMG3 (SJIS), UWJGOT (SJIS), MS Mincho, or MS Gothic]
(If you don't have any choice of fonts in Fixed width font, just leave it blank)

If your browser is Internet Explorer 5.0, you will see a different window from the one mentioned above. If so, please follow below.
Select Japanese for "Language script:"
Select a Japanese font for "Web page font" [e.g. UWJMG3 (SJIS), UWJGOT (SJIS), MS Mincho, or MS Gothic]
Select a Japanese font for "Plain text font" if available and click on "OK" to close Fonts window, then click on "Apply" and "OK" to close Internet Options window

Click on "Set as Default" button
Click on "OK" to close the window

For E-mail
After completing the tasks listed above, please do the following:
In Composing message window, select a Japanese font [e.g. UWJMG3 (SJIS), UWJGOT (SJIS), MS Mincho, or MS Gothic]
IMPORTANT NOTE:
When sending e-mail using AOL with KanjiKit 97, mojibake may occur on receivers' end because of lack of Japanese support in AOL. When this happens, please notify your receivers to change their encoding character set from "Western" to "Japanese."
